Santa Susana High School - Weekly Message

August 15, 2016

 First Day of School

Welcome, Troubadours! We are very excited to see our students return to school on Wednesday, August 17 at 8:00 AM. Students will report to their 2nd period class. Students, please be sure to check Aeries the night before and to print your schedule. We will not be distributing schedules at school.

If you notice an error in your schedule, you may email your counselor or request an appointment. However, be sure to follow your schedule as it appears in Aeries; this is how teachers will take attendance.

Again, we eagerly await the arrival of our students and look forward to a fantastic year!

Happy Birthday, Santa Su! This year, Santa Susana High School celebrates twenty years of excellence! To celebrate and highlight our successes, we will be forming a twentieth anniversary committee to help plan events for this year. This committee is open to students, staff, and parents. If you are interested in planning our programs, come to our first meeting on Thursday, August 18 at 5:30 PM in the MPR.
Student Pick-up  To ensure the safety of our students and to respect the time families spend picking up students, we ask that all students be picked up in the lower lot off of Sequoia. If you arrive to school before your child is in the parking lot waiting to be picked up, you are welcome to park in a marked parking spot. Parking is not permitted in the red curbed traffic circle (roundabout) behind the PAC.Once you know your child is waiting for you in the parking lot, you may pick him or her up in the traffic circle. We strongly encourage parents to wait 10-15 minutes after dismissal before entering the parking lot. This will allow you to get in and out of the parking lot much faster.
Item Drop-Off for Students  In order to preserve the integrity of our instructional time, we cannot deliver to classrooms items brought for students, including lunches, flowers, balloons, or other personal items. Because we never want our students to go without lunch, we will have a table in the main office for you to drop off a lunch for your child. It will be your child's responsibility to check in the main office to see if the lunch was deleivered. Thank you for helping balance the needs of our students and maintaining the integrity of the learning environment.
Aeries It is critical that all students check Aeries on Tuesday, August 16 for any schedule updates. Also, it is best practice for parents and students to continually check Aeries for grades and attendance regularly.
