Reminder: This is just a sample of available scholarships--the applications are available in the College & Career Center or in Naviance.  More scholarships are available through Naviance, in the CCC, and through a variety of different national databases.  Please contact Mrs. Wigdor with any questions.

 
Seniors!  The Universal Scholarship Application is open as of Friday, February 15th.  You can download the FILLABLE PDF here or from Naviance under "Universal Scholarship".  This application allows you to use the same application for 13 Scholarships.  The application packet has specific details on requirements and submission guidelines. Please contact Mrs. Wigdor in the College & Career Center with any questions.  The deadline for all 13 scholarships included in this packet is Tuesday, April 16 by 3:15pm.  No late packets will be accepted.  Please plan accordingly!  Good luck!
 
 
Ventura County Chapter of Blacks in Government  (APPLICANT NEED NOT BE AFRICAN AMERICAN)
$1,500 max award
DEADLINE: MARCH 25
Applicant must be graduating from an accredited secondary education institution in Ventura County -or- the child of a Ventura County Chapter of Blacks in Government member.  Applicant must have applied for admission to at least on accredited U.S. College or university, minimum 2.75 GPA and two letters of recommendation, along with an essay (topics available in the application in Naviance).

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.: Sigma Lamda Omega Chapter

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, is the first Greek-lettered sorority established and incorporated by African American college women.  Student must be a graduating high school senior or transferring community college student enrolling in a four-year college/university or a first time community college student beginning Fall 2019 and have maintained a 3.0 GPA.
 
12th District PTA

DEADLINE: MARCH 31
Graduating high school senior who attend a PTA/PTSA school in Ventura County  Scholarships are awarded to seniors who have exhibited outstanding service and volunteerism to their school and community.  Must be a member of your school's PTA/PTSA senior year (by March 1st) and provide a copy of membership card.  Include a resume or list of extracurricular and volunteer activities, essay responses, and two letters of recommendation.
 
American Institute of Architects (AIA) Ventura County Aspiring Architect Scholarship

Applicant must be a Ventura County Resident and a high school senior and must be accepted at an accredited architecture school (list of school available at www.naab.org).
 
SSHS Performing Arts Scholarships

Santa Susana Performing Arts Boosters will award cash scholarships to graduating seniors within the performing arts departments at SSHS.  The purpose of the this scholarship opportunity is to acknowledge the achievements of seniors for outstanding involvement or service at school and the community as well as to provide an incentive for students to continue their education.  Senior must have attended SSHS for at least two years and is in the process of enrolling in, or have been accepted to, a community college, four-year university, or vocational school.  Student must have been enrolled in the department (which you are applying for a scholarship) for a minimum of 2 years; overall GPA of no less than 2.5 and no less than a 3.5 cumulative GPA in the performing arts department for which the application is submitted.  Must include application, unofficial transcript, two letters of recommendation, resume, and essay.   Application available in Naviance or in the College & Career Center.
 
Ventura County Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Achievement Scholarship Award
$1,500 max award
DEADLINE: APRIL 7
African American graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.75 GPA and must live or attend high school in Ventura County.  Must have evidence of leadership potential (i.e. participation in school, community, church, or work activities).
 
Conejo-Simi-Moorpark Association of Realtors
$1,000 max award
DEADLINE: APRIL 11
Graduating high school senior and have been a resident of Conejo/Simi/Moorpark for at least the past semester and must have applied to an accredited school and plan to attend as a full-time student in Fall, 2019 with a minimum of 12 units.
 
Soroptimist International-Simi Valley: iMatter Scholarship
$500 max award
DEADLINE: APRIL 15
Graduating female high school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.0 pursuing higher education or training for vocational, community, or four-year college.  Must have overcome or is in the process of overcoming an obstacle or obstacles.
 
The Links, Incorporated: Channel Islands Chapter (APPLICANT NEED NOT BE AFRICAN AMERICAN)

The Links, Incorporated is a national volunteer service organization of women of African descent who have been united for community service and leadership since 1946. Student must be a graduating senior from Ventura or Santa Barbara county and provide evidence of leadership potential and be college bound.
 
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura: Emma Nylen Trust Scholarship Program
$1,000 max award
DEADLINE: APRIL 26 
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura haIn order to be considered, student must have a GPA of at least 2.0 or higher, and either currently be or have been in the past a resident of Ventura County.
 

CSEA: Simi Valley Chapter 310

$500 max award

DEADLINE: MAY 2

Parent or legal guardian must belong to CSEA Simi Valley Chapter 310 as an active member in good standing.  Student must be a high school senior and have applied to a two-year or four-year college or vocational school and have a 2.5 or higher GPA.

$500 max award

Along with application, transcripts and two teacher evaluations, please include an applicant statement discussing why you feel you are a qualified candidate and what sets you apart.

Applicant must be enrolled in the 12th grade in Ventura County or enrolled in at least 6 units at one of the Ventura Community Colleges.
