Reflections Art Contest News

Congratulations to our Reflections student artists: McKenna Coty (Visual Arts, Photography), Skye Kellingsworth (Visual Arts), Satyasri Saravanan (Visual Arts), Simone Jhangiani (Photography), Katherine Kricorian (Photography, Literature), Leilah Barkley (Literature), Amanda Martz (Dance Choreography), Revaa Kotia (Music Composition), Dylan Coty (Video Production), and Adam Gluzman (Video Production). Awesome job, students!

All 12 Reflections entries moved on to compete at both the Council and District levels -- Woohoo!

PTSA Scholarships

Congratulations to the five senior student recipients of this year's PTSA scholarships: Calista Bess, Sania Boyd, Ariana Horton, Mahathi Ryali, and Andrew Tran. All five students have been members of our PTSA for at least two years, including their senior year, and have distinguished themselves with their hard work, leadership, and dedication to school and community service.

Santa Susana High School (SSHS) PTSA is always looking for enthusiastic, energetic and creative people who would like to volunteer their time. Students are encouraged to volunteer and earn community service hours.

Some of our PTSA volunteer opportunities include:

  • Hospitality Committee (year-round need at various functions)
  • Red Ribbon Week (October)
  • Reflections - art contest (October) and art show (January)
  • Care and Share - local donation drives (Fall and Spring)
  • Pi/Pie Day (March)
  • Staff Appreciation (February and May)
  • STEAM Expo (Spring)
  • HSA - Honorary Service Awards (Spring)
  • Senior Scholarships (Spring)

No Frills Fundraiser:
Please consider further supporting our PTSA programs by including an additional donation. ($50 per family is suggested, but any amount is appreciated!) Check with your employer to see if they have a corporate matching donation program.

Your membership:

  • supports our PTSA programs, events and activities.
  • provides a connection and commitment to SSHS, whether you are a parent, student, family member or friend.
  • gives you a voice and a vote at all PTSA Association meetings.
  • advocates for students and teachers at the state level.
  • provides college scholarship opportunities for eligible students (qualifications include a 2-year membership.)

Membership does NOT require you to volunteer, but volunteers are always welcome!
