     Library

Seniors are visiting the library during their English class this month to participate in a unique lesson. Since graduation is right around the corner, 12th graders are learning about how to use the distinct and extensive resources they will find at their college library. During this week-long unit, students learn skills, such as: LOC classification, subject area specialists, periodical databases, scholarly research techniques, union catalogs, etc. They also learn how to use several web tools that will help them as they complete college assignments.

When the unit is complete, students will have created their own Personal learning Space (PLS) for college resources that is housed on a website they have built for college searching. We suggest that you ask your senior about his/her PLS and take a look at the materials they have created during this unit. The seniors are creating some amazine projects.
