Attention SSHS families!

This is your last opportunity to pre-order a yearbook at the discounted price of $100 (w/ASB) and $110 (no ASB). Get it before yearbook distribution, when the price will go up to $125. But don't wait too long: once we're sold out, we're sold out forever.

Please share with other school families.

From the Library

The FREE summer reading program has begun. Each summer, Audiofile Magazine offers their SYNC summer reading program for teens 13+. Through this program, teens have access to 2 free audiobook downloads per week. The 2018 program is already in full swing. Please let your son/daughter know about this program, and let's keep them reading all summer long.

Teens will need to download the free Overdrive app. Once students download these audiobooks, they are theirs to keep forever! Titles are only available to download for 7 days, and the selection changes every Thursday morning.

The details may be found at this site: https://www.audiobooksync.com/

College & Career Center

Last Call
Seniors! Make sure to turn in an "accepted" card, indicating where you will be pursuing an education in the Fall (2-year, 4-year, Vocational/Trade, military) so that your name can be included on our Acceptance Map!

Please keep checking Naviance and the Scholarship page on the College & Career Center Website for up-to-date info. Many of the local scholarships award at least one to a senior at each high school in Simi Valley! Your student could be one of them! Scholarship List

Contact Mrs. Wigdor in the CCC with any questions.

Counselor's Corner

Senior Transcripts
Attention Seniors! Now that you have confirmed which college you will be attending next fall, please come to the Counseling Office to request final transcripts. The request form is on a clipboard on the table in front of Mrs. Petralia's desk. Students planning to go to community college (Moorpark, Pierce, etc.) need to request final transcripts as well.

SVUSD Summer School
Students needing to confirm their summer school course requests and complete master agreements can pick up the master agreements in the counseling office or main office.

Peer Tutoring

Students at Santa Susana High School will be tutoring their peers for free after school in all subjects! This will take place 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM in Room 410 from Monday through Thursday every week.

Honorary Service Awards Presented by SSHS PTSA
Each year the Santa Susana High School PTSA has the privilege of giving a special recognition to individuals for outstanding service to youth. A contribution is made in each recipient's name to the HSA Scholarship Fund.

This year we recognized the following people for the amazing ways they serve our schools and community. Please help us congratulate Jennifer Lang, Greg Horne, and Michelle Schields for being awarded our Honorary Service Award, Jerri Scott on being awarded our Very Special Person Award, Francisca Mendoze-Martinet and Irene Silbert for being awarded our Outstanding Teacher Award, and Gail Sarkisian for being awarded our most prestigious honor, The Golden Oak Award.
Congratulations to all!

Spring Care and Share
The Spring Care and Share Committee (part of the SSHS PTSA) will be holding a collection drive to help the Simi Valley Samaritan Center. Please see the attached flyer for details regarding the specific items being collected for this evern. Bins for collection will be available at the front and back parking lots May 14 - May 18 before and after school. We are also looking for student volunteers willing to help man the collection bins.
